So, I wanted to drop in and talk to you about a subject that has a lot of bad publicity, a subject that is very misunderstood, and a subject that is also, the way I look at it, a huge catalyst for massive transformation on this earth plane.
It’s a tool that human beings have at their disposal. When used correctly, it can really help people. It’s medicine, particularly ayahuasca. I mean, there are other medicines: iboga, ibogaine, psilocybin, San Pedro. There’s a bundle of different medicines. They’ve all got their place. They all perform different roles.
Mother Aya, as well as some of the other ones, is something I’ve worked extensively with, and she’s so special. She’s a great teacher. She’s a ruthless teacher. She’s kind. She’s compassionate. But she’ll whoop your ass at the same time if you don’t listen.
I don’t know how many times I’ve drunk ayahuasca. Near 500. It’s a lot. I first drunk it in Brazil in 2014, in the jungle, with a beautiful lady shaman. Amazing. I’ll never forget it. I went for 11 days. It was an amazing experience.
I’ll tell you a story. I’ve got bundles of stories about Aya, but just one from my first experience. It was the first night that I had taken it. And I was 40 minutes into my journey. I looked down and my body had disappeared. I had no body. It was completely invisible. And I reached out with my arm to see if I could feel my other arm and my body came back.
And I thought, “Oh my god, I’ve ruined it. I’ve ruined it.” So anyway, I’m saying to the facilitators, “I need a booster. I need a booster.” They said, “Jerry, you’ve just had one. You’re high. You can’t have another one for, I don’t know, an hour or so.”
So anyway, 2 hours had gone past. Then I said, you know, I need another booster. So, they gave me another one and it just sent me. To cut a long story short, I ended up in the toilet and I’m on the floor and I’m hugging the bottom of the toilet, and there’s mosquitoes munching my legs, my ankles. My head’s getting pushed into the skirting board, and it’s just very uncomfortable.
And the Aya is trying to take me down all these tunnels. And every time I go to go down the tunnel, I keep pulling back. There’s like this fear in me. So, the mosquitoes are getting worse. My head’s getting driven into the headboard more. It’s getting more and more uncomfortable. And in the end, I surrender.
I go down one of these dark tunnels and I end up in my mother’s womb. And for those of you that know my story, my mother was tortured at birth. It was a horrific pregnancy.
Anyway, I ended up in my mother’s womb, and I got reborn in a different way. So, a lot of trauma healed. It was beautiful. When that happened, the mosquitoes stopped biting me. My head became comfortable against the skirting board and I was in heaven.
And one of the facilitators opened the door. I said, “You okay, Jerry? Do you want to come back into the ceremony hall?” I said, “Brother, unless anyone wants to use the toilet, I’m just going to stay right here. I’m having the time of my life.”
And I was in absolute bliss. So Aya is a great teacher. Like, she was beating me up and forcing me to go down these tunnels, but I wouldn’t do it. And in the end, I just had no choice because my external environment was working with her, making me more and more uncomfortable. And in the end, I surrendered. And it was beautiful.
Got so many ayahuasca stories.
Something I wanted to dive into with Aya is connected. If you’ve ever drunk ayahuasca, you’re connected to every human being, every jungle. Anywhere where ayahuasca has ever been, you can access.
Now, here’s the thing. A lot of people think Aya came from the jungle. Maybe it was discovered in the jungle here on planet Earth. But I remember drinking it in a liquid blue plasma form in the stars. It’s been around for billions of years.
Ayahuasca isn’t something that you can own. Ayahuasca isn’t anybody’s. It doesn’t belong to the native tribes. It doesn’t belong to the westerners. It doesn’t belong to anyone.
The traditions that people have created in their own ceremonial spaces do, and that is sacred, and that I honour and respect.
When we do our plant medicine ceremonies, they’re very different. We dance, play music, which you do in traditional ones too, or sometimes get glow sticks out, light the place up, or let people interact a bit more.
When you go to the jungle, a lot of the time you’ve got to lie on your bed and kind of be still. It’s like that in some of the western environments too. But we’re very free with our ayahuasca experiences.
And it’s a shock to the system when people come sometimes that have been in traditional ones, but once they experience the freedom, they love it. But within that freedom, you have to have a higher level of understanding of the space, of the geometry, of the grids, of the forces that can move.
Very important.
Now, what I really want to dive into here is the connection. Like I was saying, if you’ve drunk ayahuasca, you’re connected to ayahuasca everywhere.
I’ll tell you a story. I was drinking medicine one time and I’m journeying, and the next thing I end up on a floor and I’m looking up and I can’t move. And I’m like, why can’t I move? And then I realized that I was a puddle of ayahuasca, that someone had dropped some ayahuasca. Like, it was on the floor in the middle of this ceremony hall. It’s a hard floor. And I was witnessing the whole ceremony from the eyes of the Aya. Amazing.
I remember one time I ended up in a cup, like a transparent cup. It wasn’t glass. It was plastic. But I was in a plastic see-through cup, and someone had drunk their Aya and left a little bit, and I was it. [laughter]
And I was on the bedside table looking at a bed with two people lying in it, a man and a woman just lying there asleep, hugging. They’d obviously been journeying and fallen asleep. And I was able to move through the field into the Aya in the glass and observe what was going on.
I’ve been in a ceremony on another planet as the blue liquid plasma in this kind of long, thin, spiralis-tic kind of container, which was hovering in the space. It wasn’t sat on anything. It just hovered, and the blue plasma Aya was in it. Kind of floated in this higher dimensional world.
And I was inside this spiralis-tic tall glass, or whatever the container was, looking out around. And they had these beings. The beings were like a purple-blue colour, and they had ponytails and these shaved heads on the side and bald on top. And I was just witnessing and experiencing this. It was some Syrian planet somewhere, but I don’t know exactly where I was only probably in the experience for maybe 20 seconds, and my consciousness moved on.
But Aya is connected to water everywhere. You know, if you connect deeply and get into the presence of water, you can access all the information from every river, every ocean, every sea, every lake.
You can be wherever water’s been, just like you can be wherever Aya has been. These medicines are to be explored, but with discernment and care and with safety, with people that know what they’re doing.
You know, there are people in Portugal, people in Spain at the moment, they’re just throwing up one, two days in the UK as well, and probably in other places of the planet too, but these are just ones that I know of a lot Just throwing them up in apartments. People are going there for a day, 2 days, and the things that happen are not cool.
Yeah. Even a very well-known ayahuasca retreat centre in Costa Rica, one of my business partners, a girl that worked for him, she went to this place, very well known, probably one of the most well-known ones on the planet, and she was having an experience and, you know, she was freaking out a little bit. So, they hog-tied her. They tied her hands, they tied her legs, and when she woke up in the morning, they just kicked her out into the jungle.
You got to be aware if you’re drinking medicine. If you don’t know your own, I don’t like to use the word limitations, but your own expression on the medicine, if you’ve not done it before, then I would go to a medicine ceremony with a friend so you can look after each other.
Not everybody is always who they say they are. So just be aware of that.
But I encourage anyone and everyone to drink it, but only when you get the calling. I thought about it for a few years, and then one day there was a clear sign. Someone that I knew had been to this particular medicine retreat, and I just knew. So, I booked my ticket the next day. I was on a plane 3 days later. Boom. In Brazil, you know, within a week I was drinking medicine. I just knew. She called me.
She called me. And she will call you too. If you’re supposed to drink it, when you’re supposed to drink it, you feel it. You feel it in your soul.
So, medicine is interesting. Explore it. Do it safely. Know that it’s a teacher that will take you on the most incredible journey.
When we do medicine, we incorporate breath work. We incorporate star magic. So, we’re in the medicine ceremony, as well as the Aya working, you’ve got star magic working. So, it takes everything up 100 gears. That’s why the transformation in our ceremonies is so radical.
Yeah. I just wanted to share this with you because a lot of people, they dog Aya. They dog medicine in general. They think it’s a drug. People don’t understand it.
I’ve taken every drug on the planet. Ecstasy, acid, coke, heroin, hash, weed, I don’t know, pretty much everything. You know, as a kid, amphetamines, base, crack cocaine, I’ve injected heroin, I’ve injected coke, I’ve injected speed. I’ve done all of it when I was growing up in my mad, crazy, wild years.
And you know, all of that stuff is addictive. It was hardcore for me getting myself clean. You know, you do Aya for a week, you don’t want to get up and drink it the next day. You do Aya for one night, it’s the last thing you really want to put into your belly the next morning.
Feel it. You’ll know. You’ll always know if you take the time to be present and feel.
